Birthday Parties and a Wedding...

The wedding has come and gone.... Dan and Daisy are officially hitched! We enjoyed being a part of their special day. We cooked the meat and potatoes for the big day and got some rave reviews! We were a bit stressed, but had great helpers and pulled it all off without any disasters. We had everything ready on time and served everyone. We fed about 200 people.
I also did Daisy's make-up earlier in the day and had to get Lilly ready for her job as flower girl. She looked darling in her dress and we were sure that she would do her part without any problems, but as she lined up to get ready to walk with Tarver, (he was ring bearer) I knew we were going to have a problem. She looked at me and said "Momma, there's too many people." I tried calming her, but we were running short on time. I ended up walking her down the aisle in my khaki pants, flip-flops and not so nice shirt!! I couldn't dress up for the event because I was cooking all day! It was a bit embarrassing, but I survived....
Tarver did a superb job. He wasn't nervous at all.

The trailer worked great! It was awesome. Kelly made us a banner with our name on it and we had a lot of our business cards disappear, so guess people liked our food. We may have another wedding to do in September already-

Jason and Destiny are good friends of ours and were amazing help! We could not have pulled the event off without their hard work. Thanks Much you two! We also want to thank Jimmy, Tim and Mr. Langston for their help as well. Kate and Brittany did a stellar job helping us serve the food too-

Destiny and I made the camo aprons to match Dan's (the groom) vest. They matched him perfectly and tied into the wedding well. I will have more wedding pictures soon. I didn't have a chance to get some of Dan and Daisy... just too busy.

We also had two swimming parties during the week. Hunter and Logan turned 4 on Sunday and the kids had a blast at the swimming party. The weather cooperated nicely! Lilly scored on candy from the pinata.

Other pool party was for Dave. He is a young 38! The Dad's below had a great time with all the kiddo's in the pool.

Mac and his buddies- Kaymen and Noah

Lilly enjoyed the inter tube and slide!

We are now getting ready for back to school. Lilly has her Open House this evening and Mac starts football tomorrow. School starts on the 8th. Also having a neighborhood garage sale this Friday and Saturday. We have plenty to do to get ready for everything...thought maybe we would have some "down time", but know that was just wishful thinking! Ha-

Great News,"Less Nerves" and Birthday Wishes...

So, my day started out with a great phone call from my Dad.
He had his "big" appt today with the Hep C specialist to go over his genotype and therapy treatments. He has a favorable genotype, meaning that he is only in stage one or two of this disease and will only have to complete the 24 weeks of therapy versus 48 weeks of therapy/treatments. His therapy consists of weekly shots, weekly blood work and pills daily. After the first 4 weeks, he will be re-assessed and may be able to go to monthly blood work tests. Unfortunately, he has to drive to El Paso once a week regardless of blood tests because they cannot mail him his injections, so he has to pick them up weekly. It is a 4 hour drive one way to El Paso. I am sure that drive will get old. But, all in all, this is the best news we could have gotten about what stage of Hep C he has. After he completes this therapy, the Hep virus will be knocked out/in remission and he will not have any future problems with it. Dad and I have been very "anxious and nervous" about this appt. Both of us are very relieved that he got good news...YEAH!!

I had my 25 week appt today and everything is moving along smoothly. I have the normal complaints of being uncomfortable, not sleeping well, Braxton-Hicks Contractions and some pain in my legs due to my bad veins, but they all seem minor. Baby's heart beat was great and I am perfectly on track with my weight and measurements. My next appt is for my one hour GTT (glucose test) and to get my Rogham shot. I am RH-, so my blood and the baby's blood cannot mix or it's toxic to me only. The Rogham prevents any complications. I will receive another Rogham shot after I deliver.
I am getting very excited to meet this baby. It is very active...

One last, but important thing... we are a day late on getting this posted, but we are posting it with much love!
Happy Birthday Momma B! Hope you had a great birthday-

Busy, Busy, Busy....Busy...

I have a lot of "catching you all up" to do! We have had a full schedule, (just like everyone else I know) so it has been difficult to keep up...
This first set of pictures is from a birthday party that we went to on Sunday. It was at a park in Mollala that has a little train you can ride on. Lilly loved it... she still plays with all her Thomas the Train stuff and watches the movies. She was all ready for the train ride with her custom made Thomas overalls!

This next set of pictures is from a birthday party we went to on Saturday. Our neighbor, Lucy, turned 3. The 'lil gals had a great time and the cake and cupcakes were SCRUMPTIOUS!

Lilly had a little melt down when I pulled her off the table that Lucy's presents were on. The girls were going nuts "trying" to help Lucy open her gifts....

I was grateful for all the birthday parties and busy weekend we had ahead of us. Dad had left early (at 4 a.m.) on Saturday and it was a hard goodbye for me to do.
No Daughter has ever had a better Dad.
Being busy after he left, helped keep my mind off it and my emotions in check. His 6 week stay here just flew by way too quickly and I wasn't ready for him to go... we sure had a lot of fun.

This next group of pictures is from our trip to Seaside. We had GREAT weather, the best weather I have ever experienced at the Oregon Coast. It was warm enough that the kids were swimming in the ocean! The day was full of sandcastle making, swimming, arcade games, rides, shopping, the Aquarium and yummy food. We were exhausted when we got back home. Below is Mac all the way in the surf!

The kids picked up some COOL hats in one of the shops... Mac's hat is a wolf.

Dad, Mac and Lilly driving Bumper Cars. I was a bit "tiffed" because no Prego's are allowed on the rides...

Dad and the kids...

I think this next group of pictures is from Sunday (the 9th)... can't remember if Pat's race was Saturday or Sunday. Anyhow, Pat did a short race in Gresham with one of his buddies, he is in the blue #30. He has been biking a lot and plans on getting back into doing some races.

GO PAT!

On Friday night we had a big party for Dad. It was a combination of b-days and a farewell party. We also celebrated Alec's (our nephew) 12th birthday. We had 36 adults and about 20 kiddo's attend. It was big get-together! I was running around so busy the whole time, I did not get any pictures. If it wasn't for Lilly playing with the camera, I would have NONE!
Lilly snapped this picture of us getting things ready.

Mike, another nephew was waving to Lilly.

Here is Grandma Kathy.

This was Dad's 4th cake for his b-day... good thing he likes cake!

Lilly in Grandpa's boots.

Just loungin'...

This is a picture of Mac, Dad, Hunter and Logan. We had a small party with the Robinson's over on the actual day of Dad's b-day. (the 9th) Dad was pretty wiped out, he had been fishing at the coast all day.

Here are Dad's pictures from his b-day fishing trip. They had a great time and all did very well.

From left to right-
Dan, Daisy, Harold, Mary, Dad and Jimmy with their catches of the day on the big
'OL Thunderbird.
Dan and Daisy are getting married this Saturday. Pat and I are smoking/cooking Brisket and Potatoes for the big event. We will feed about 325 people! We have been working all this week to get ready. We plan to cook all day Friday and some on Saturday to be ready. We will also be serving the food, so we have a big job ahead of us. Lilly is the Flower Girl and is all excited to be wearing her dress... I just hope she does what she is suppose to do! The Bride and her wedding party will be getting ready at our house as well, so busy, busy is all I can say!
