Catchin Up...

Last week we had some sunny days and the kids took advantage of it! Mac rode his Razor everyday after school.

Lilly dug in the yard. She kept asking for flowers and I found it a bit hard to explain to a 31/2 yr. old why we cannot plant any yet....

Lilly also occupied herself by zipping herself up in Henry's collapsible kennel. She was actually walking in it because she could not un-zip it.

We had a hectic/over scheduled week. I was working on a big Fundraiser/Family Fun Night for Mac's school. We (The Parent Club) spent weeks working on it and getting donations, food, games etc ready and finalized for the big night. We had it on Friday evening and were relieved that it all went well!! It was a lot of work, so I am glad it's done and over. I also had art lessons and the monthly Star Artist's at Starbucks. I basically have to take down all the artists from last month and put up the new one's. Then, the kids come with their parents, have hot cocoa and look at everyone's art work. It is fun, but lots of work too- it was just a bit stressful because it all needed to be done in the same week. Pat had to watch the kids every night because I was just zipping around trying to finish projects up. I was also working on getting stuff ready for my first Sandy Bunco Group game. It turned out that putting the group together and all the supplies, hosting etc....was a bigger job than I expected. (I should mention that I did all this with a migraine that lasted FOR DAYS! So bad that I got a shot yesterday...OUCH) But, we played last night and had a BLAST, so it was totally worth it! I am so glad that we have it up and going and am looking forward to playing next month! Now we have Baseball Try-Outs to focus on, practices and games and I am working on a baby shower for this Sunday.... always something!
I woke up this morning feeling 100% better....WHEW what a relief. Guess that shot did it's job-
I want to express a BIG THANK YOU to Destiny...She is my partner in chaos and worked her tail off too. I could not have made it without her help! Also, THANKS to Pat for being such an AWESOME HUSBAND and to Momma B for watching Lilly on Friday night!
Ta-Ta for now...

Need some prayers-

Okay,
I am asking everyone who knows me or knows my family, to send up as many prayers as they can for my Mom and for myself. While she was here for Valentine's Day, we had a good discussion about filling for disability. It is time. She is beyond exhausted and sick a lot. She has to take many, many medications to just survive or get out of bed sometimes. She cannot physically or mentally work enough to afford her prescriptions every month. Even with good insurance, her meds are OUTRAGEOUS. This has been coming for sometime, so we are just going to buckle down and get 'er done. (so to speak)
Filling for disability is a long, lengthy and grueling process in the State of Oregon at the moment. I feel very lost and a bit stressed because she is depending on me. This alone, is tough for me on so many levels. I am a 100% dedicated to helping her, so I know I can do this.
Not too long ago I was filling things for my Dad and fighting almost every day with bill collectors, SSI and the VA. His stuff all came through, (thank you Jesus) but I know that my Mom's case if different and more complicated.
Mom has in the past made huge leaps and bounds in her recovery from the aneurysm. She had to re-learn SOOOO much...it was amazing to watch her.
However, we were told that she would start regressing at some point. It has been both difficult and heartbreaking to watch this begin to happen. It has even been very frustrating/aggravating at times-
It is no secret that we have had some major strains in our past and in our relationship as Mother and Daughter, but I have always been able to set all that aside and help her when needed. This is most definitely one of the most important things that she needs to survive and I will go down fighting for it with all I have.
So, please, please ask God to help me know what to do and when to do it. Please ask God to be with my Mom as this process starts and to help her know that she is never alone. I want to help her with this burden and come out of it with flying colors-
Please pray for her doctors and social workers as they sort through her info/medical history and decide/recommend what they think is best for her.
~Thanks Much and God Bless~

My mom came to visit for Valentine's Day! The kids were very excited to see her. We had a nice dinner and they played and watched movies until late last night. Grandma brought lots of presents, including a new "blankie" for Miss Lilly!

Lingering Bug-

Howdy-
Hope you all had a grand weekend. We had an okie-dokie one. I had a PartyLite Candle party on Friday night. Had a great turnout and a good time. I am still a bit sick and was not feeling a 100%, but pulled it off. I didn't want to reschedule it bcz I had already re-scheduled it twice. I am sure that the consultant would not have been pleased with me! I had friends come from Canby as well as some of my new neighbors and friends from Mac's school. Now I have a nice credit to buy some goodies with- I really love PartyLite candles!
We had beautiful sunny and warm weather on Saturday- a total shocker! We took advantage of it too! Washed the cars, went for a walk, played outside games...just spent the entire day outside. It's amazing how the sun re-energizes you. I am SOO ready for spring/summer to get here.
Today was typical Oregon winter weather...in fact we are suppose to have some snow late tonight through Wednesday, so yesterday was a total tease- but I am grateful to have had it.
I am very tired of this icky bug I have had for over 3 weeks now. (Pat is a bit tired of it too)
I will have one good day and think I am kicking it, but the next day it's back with a vengeance- no medicine/antibiotic is kicking it. However, the kids and Pat have some how NOT gotten it, SO I HOPE IT STAYS THAT WAY.
This week we will be getting ready for the Valentine Parties at school and catching up on art lessons. I am also helping Carmen with our friend Laurie's baby shower. We finished all the invitations today and planned out some games. Does anyone have some fun game suggestions they could send me?
I am also working on my new Bunco group. I love my Canby Bunco so much, that I decided to start a group here as well. Our first game is going to be on the 23rd, so I have a few things to get done for that as well. I am excited to play with my new neighbors and friends. We don't know each other very well, but that's what Bunco's for! Plus...now I get to play Bunco twice a month!!! YAHOO-

Weekend times-

Lilly finally has enough hair for pig-tails! Her hair is actually longer than it appears...it's just so curly it looks short when it's down. She asked me on saturday if she could have piggies in her hair like Pinkalicious. Pinkalicious is one of her favorite books-
Anyhow, this was the outcome- she was pleased and wants to wear her hair like this every day!

On Saturday evening we went to The Shriner' s Crab Feed Dinner/Fundraiser with a group of our friends. Had a good time. I was still (and still am) fighting my head cold stuff, but really wanted to get out and do something! Carmen's grandpa is a Shriner, so we try to go the fundraiser dinner every year. We enjoyed having an evening without the kiddo's.

I have to explain this last picture- kind of funny. A friend of ours put a crab in her purse to take to her husband's grandmother. We were laughing at her while she was trying to secretly stash it away. I had to take a picture...I wonder what her purse smelled like later on?? YUCK-
