Blessed Mother's Day Weekend

My Mother's Day weekend was just awesome...every single second of it was a blessed moment.
We started out on Saturday at Grandma Kathy's. We did a work day in her yard to help her and Papa get some yard work and projects done. It was a great family day. We even had a yummy dinner together after all our hard work.
Mac mowed the front and back yard. We have been trying to make sure he goes over and mows about once a week-
Catie Lynn did a great job of sweeping the deck/porch.
Alec raked, weeded and cleaned an area that we put gravel on.
Lilly got a lesson from Grandma on pruning...but Lilly, as usual, had decided she needed to look "fashionable" while we were working and had wore flip-flops! I was worried she was going to cut-off a toe or two, so Grandma did the pruning and Lilly did the raking!!

 Griff was a weeding machine-
 As was Tarver-
Uncle Tim pruned trees and bushes-
Sherry had the "fun" job of pruning the prickly (Ouch) holly bush that is next to the house and was blocking our path to the back yard.
Pat and I took turns getting the gravel to the back yard so Kelly and others could get it spread out.
Yep, it was a great day and the perfect Mom's Day gift for Grandma Kathy. Kudos to Kelly for getting it all coordinated and for getting the gravel, etc!
Dave was our hamburger and hot dog maker for the evening.
Grandma Pam even made up. She made it in time to hang out and visit with everyone and eat with us as well.
The kids came out all dolled up in some of Sherry's old prom dresses...Grandma Kathy has been doing some major spring cleaning and had some of this stuff out and the kids found it all!
Too funny- blogger won't rotate these pics for some reason-
Lilly brought this dress home and has wore it around just about every day.
Mac and Alec....wow...you pull this look off well!
The kids were excited to give out the Mother's Day gifts they had worked on-
these are bird feeders made out of pine-cones that we collected in LaPine. We melted peanut butter and dipped the pine-cones in it- then we rolled them in birdseed. The birds love them...
We also made sun-catchers. It was a project that we did with our Girl Scout troop and they turned out so great that Lilly and I wanted to make more of them.
All three of the kids had fun making these. They are awesome. I couldn't wait to hang mine up!
By the time we were done at Grandma Kathy's we were all a bit tuckered out and needed to head home because we had a big day planned for Sunday!
We got up early on Sunday and went to the Portland Zoo!
SUCH A FUN DAY!
(again, blogger will not rotate some of my pics)
This was one of our first family outings in a very long while with Griff. It just use to be impossible to take him to big places where there are lots of people, movements, sounds, etc....
HE DID AWESOME and the best part- he enjoyed it and had such a good time, as did Mac and Lilly and my mom. So funny- she was as excited about the zoo as the kids were!
For me- this was the best Mother's Day gift I could ever ask for...to see how much Griff has progressed and for us to all be able to go out and enjoy our time together.
It was a very great day.
My camera died after a bit, so these are from the phone- wish they had turned out better!
I am one lucky momma-
truly blessed and truly thankful.
Thanks for reading and I hope you all had a Happy Mother's Day.
