TeXaS TriP (Part Three)

Hi Again! I am going to attempt to sum up the rest of our Texas trip in this post. If you missed part one- here is the link- http://potterluv.blogspot.com/2012/07/texas-part-one.html
If you missed part two, here is the link- http://potterluv.blogspot.com/2012/07/texas-part-two.html.
So- after our big Saturday celebration...we were all a little bit exhausted, but a good exhausted! That day will always be in my heart and so will all the people that were there. It was great. I am SO glad that I made the trip for it. We slept in on Sunday a bit, but had to get moving because we had another fun day planned. It was a special day...NONNA'S BIRTHDAY and we were throwing a Couples Baby Shower for Kelsey and John. Velvet, Keith and I had found the perfect gift for Nonna the day before at one of the booths in town. We could hardly wait to give it to her, but had decided to wait until after the shower was over.
The shower turned out to be a lot of fun. I had never helped or hosted with a Couples Baby Shower before, so I was a bit nervous about the games, etc...but it was great.
The first game was the generic poopy diaper game. I had only John participate in this one. I had made a special "apron" for him to wear for it.

As you can see, he took it like a man! LOL...he was ready to change/clean up poop!
He had all the necessities needed (and then some) to take care of diaper changing.
I had made some pretty nasty looking diapers for him to go thru...he had to tell us what his baby had eaten that day! He surprised us and grossed us all out when he took a bite out one of them...bleh! Even little Maddox was a bit disgusted!

After we recovered from laughing ourselves silly, we played a guessing game with candy bars. I would give a clue and everyone would have to do their best to guess which type of candy fit the clue. Whoever hollered it out first, won that specific candy bar. For example, The conception- Skor Candy Bar, Triplets- 3 Musketeers, Hospital Bill- Payday Bar, Contractions- Whoppers, Epidural- Lifesavers, etc.
It was fun. I think Nonna had the biggest pile of candy!
Next, it was time for presents. John examined everything they opened...he needed too! He didn't even know what a "binkie" was until recently! LOL!!
Kelsey was glowing...such a pretty Momma.

These are the BEST towels ever!! Martha makes them...they are awesome!

After presents, it was good old CAKE time. The cake was so cute and "to die for" delicious! I can't remember the gals name that makes the cakes there...but she does amazing work!

Congratulations John and Kelsey!!
We are all very thrilled for you. I know that you will both make a great team together and be just absolutely loving, kind, amazing parents. Maddox and Baby John McKenzie are lucky little babes.
John, I can hardly believe how fast things have changed for you! They are all great and amazing changes and I could not be more happier and proud of you. I struggle all the time with the thoughts of Dad not being here with us and with you on your amazing life changing events...but then I know that he IS with you and he IS with me. I have NO doubts at all about it. He was such an amazing, amazing and loving Grandpa to my kids and all other kids around him. I so wish he was here to give his big bear hugs to yours. If he could be here for it, you know he would. I can't wait to see/meet little John McKenzie...I know he is gonna have Dad's eyes...I just know it! Congrats again to all of you. We love you to the moon and back!
Thanks for reading...looks like there will have to be a Part Four to our TeXaS TriP!
Stay Tuned...
